Right! Time to get a little information out on the marathons for 2011. We've got some information to give out and we'll be updating this thread with more as it comes along. So, that said, here we go!
Z-Day Tri
We're going to be tackling more Legend of Zelda come March 25th-27th. It won't be 72 hours and so we're not going to be trying for the whole series. The charity is decided! We're going to be raising money for the Alzheimer's Association again. Instead since the marathon is only going to be 48 hours the players are going to decide which game they would most like to play and go with that. We're not sure what the entire list of games is going to look like but we've got a couple already decided. Currently the list is looking like this:
Week of Fantasy
Yep, we're going to try again in June. The series: Final Fantasy. The timeframe: 120 hours. How many can we get through in that time? All of them? Here's hoping that we can. The charity we will be raising money for is Doctors Without Borders once more! As for the games? We'll be covering the same games we did the last time we tried this marathon idea. No word yet on if we're going to play FF13 or not if we can get someone willing to play it and can get through it in a decent timeframe, and depending on if we can find someone that plays, we might use the second stream to show off a few hours of the MMOs. Players haven't been decided for every game, but the list is looking something like this right now:
Community Choice
Coming around in August we've got 48 hours of sweetness. During the months leading up to this marathon the players are going to set up polls here on the forums with a list of games they'd be up for playing and you, the community, will decide which games we play. Feel free to also give suggestions of games for specific players to try for and you might just find your suggestions appearing on the list of that player. We're not sure about the charity yet but it shouldn't be long before we are. And, of course, given the nature of how we're going to decide the game list we can't give one right now, however we'll be putting them up as we figure them out so keep an eye on that.
