Ok I promise for once no wall-O-text attacks or soapboxing. However I am curious which 'incarnation' for lack of a better term the people here enjoy more. On the one side is the traditional Japanese 'Eastern' RPG which works more along the lines of a playable novel with a largely fixed plot and variations on turn-based combat? Or the traditionally more fluid Western RPGs that usually come nowdays in the "Balders gate/Diablo 2" style isometric or back facing macroy style gameplay often with more open, tabletop inspired plot lines?
The choices are yours and yours alone... good luck
