It is 1 week before the Community Choice Marathon, and there's only Steve's and Jerry's poll threads up, which (I believe) can't be the only guys playing games over 2 days.
The worst thing about it is that noone responds to my question in the Marathon thread, just imagine if I was a "new" member of the community. I would think the forum/the marathon group is dead and not bother anymore.
Greetings,

Alright, so I've been rather on the neglectful side of things here, and that's partially from being busy and partially from being lazy. That said, I'm going to be honest. Everything about this marathon's planning has been nothing but bad.
In answer to the question, no one else has posted a poll and I'm not sure if any other polls will be posted. Jerrod's off in DC doing his thing and I'm not going to begrudge him wanting to seek opportunity, but as for everyone else I'm not sure what's up. A generally laziness seems to be the most likely reason, or the simple fact that everybody forgot to do it (which could partially be my fault for not nagging them enough about it).
But on to other business. I've got no idea what to do with the ChipIn for this marathon, or if we should even have one considering that the charities we tried to get in contact with have been less than responsive (i.e. they haven't responded). So there's that problem. On top of that getting in touch with Jerry has been nothing but a nightmare recently, so I haven't been able to discuss these problems with him either. I'm hopefully going to speak with him tonight (the 30th) and get some idea of a plan. Then there's the problem with the forum in that most of the group has always been less than active on it, which has been nothing but disappointing to me since day one considering open discussion with the community is what builds relations with it.
Your assessment of the forum/marathon group being dead might not be too far off the money if things don't change. At the very least it seems we're going to need an influx of new blood to get things kick started once more. It's a little early to tell but, again, with any luck I'll be talking with Jerry over the problem and hopefully come to a resolution. If not, well, we might be done after August. It's hard to say right now.
Anyway, sorry for being late in getting back to you on this, and hopefully this has been informative. If nothing else, I'll catch you come August and with any luck things will have been worked out and we can look forward to next year being an awesome year for marathons.

If things are really going that bad, you should consider rescheduling or canceling the Marathon and work things out, for example wether if you want to run more marathons or not, instead of running a super bad and messy marathon that will leave "bad memories" in people's brains in case you quit afterwards. Leave us with the good memories from the FF Marathon, if you aren't 100% about the success of this marathon.
On the inactive Forum thing: It is not really the fault of the The Returners that it is so quiet around here. A lot of the "old school" posters don't post anymore at all, and I am more of a reader than a writer in forums, unless something is on my mind.
Besides, it is sad that I am the only one from the regular users to figure out that things aren't going right this time around.

I wouldn't mind too much if the marathon is going to be delayed. I did almost abandon hope of watching it due to harsh educations (and basketball). However, it would be nicer if you did make up for it such as more livestreams or of other criterias. I just hope this would never happen again
P.S. Bonefletcher don't say that. Some other members visit here once a week or month. I check here daily but I wouldn't be too bothered to reply to some posts unless necessary

So it is not "necessary" in your eyes to point out that things are going downhill with no posts at all for at least 1 month?
The marathon is cancelled according to their Facebook group, but they apparently forgot to post that here aswell. (Not like it was supposed to be last week anyway)

well.. I do have to point out the downhill of posts... plus the others are mainly busy of studies and works so you'll have to admit for that. I do say that they have been a bit out of order too.. We should get more organized for these stuff

OK... I'll admit it. I haven't even looked at the forums in a really long time, and didn't even know we were having a marathon in August, let alone that it was cancelled. I could say that this is because I've just finished my first year of college and am starting my second, and that over the summer, my main priority was to hang out with all my friends from my hometown before I moved away again for school. In reality though, I simply forgot. >.< So... sorry about that. I will try to remember to check up on you guys in the future. Also, I'ma join the facebook group that I didn't know we had, so I can talk to y'all sometimes.
